Week 3 - Postponed!

So, we picked from the jar on Sunday again (you're getting the gist of this now, right?) and we got "Eat at Le Bistro". We're excited about it but it was one busy week last week and its going to be a busy week this week (Diane's birthday! Chris Young at the SaddleRack!). We're hoping to go next week but we've got an adventure then too (Fondue Restaurant! Fondue Restaurant!) so who knows. We can't pick again until we've gone to Le Bistro and eaten food Daniel cooked for us so we're idling in neutral.

So far I've been pleasantly suprised at the things that we've pulled out of the jar. And it seems to have been inspiring us to have our own adventures (Chris Young at the SaddleRack! Girls Night at Fondue Restaurant!) which is, alas, the point of the jar. To get us out of the house. And we're getting out . . . and most of the time it isn't even just to grab Yogafina. :)

Week 2 - Getting Lost

Okay Blogoshpere, we're kind of behind. But in the typing, not in the having of adventures. Okay, well we're kind of behind in the having of adventures too but that's not important. Here's what happened . . .

- We were all excited to pull from the jar again and Diane picked . . . ."Pull 2 things for this week." Anti-climactic, I know.
- What we really got was "Visit Old Sac" and "Go To A Rodeo." Ummmm, okay . . .
- Old Sac was a done deal. We planned to go the next Sunday. The rodeo was harder - the irony being if we had picked that the first week we totally could have seen one but we were dancing instead of spectating so we missed it.
- We looked and looked but there were no more rodeos scheduled in the area so we improvised (it is the technological age, isn't it?) and we'll be posting our "rodeo" for you to check out yourself soon.
- We decided to make a day of it and first went up to IKEA to buy me a new desk chair. Now we've been to IKEA before, tons of times, but for reasons unknown I made a very poor navigator and we turned on the wrong 80 and ended up going the wrong way. BUT I finally put my iPhone to some other use than feeding my Twitter addiction and the GPS saved the day (and got his name - Spencer it is). Spencer guided us to IKEA then through town from IKEA to Old Sac like a champ. Not sure how the driver would be able to use the GPS but us shotgun spectators find it mighty handy.
- We went to old Sac. We ate expensive food. We walked in lots of circles. Was fun but we need to go back with a Social Shopper (which we are not) who will make us look around in the funky stores.
- Oh, and we TOTALLY have something else to do later - Suspects Mystery Cruise. a Murder Mystery party, on a boat, with a 4 course gourmet dinner. Who can resist?

Two-Steppin' It

Well Heather, it sounds like you had fun! Of course, being the one that drove your tipsy butts back home, I already knew that. Hehehe

Friday line dancing was fun - I like activities where it is perfectly acceptable to sit there and stare at people for awhile and not always be going, going, going. Heck I danced 4 times on Friday in 4 and a half hours and that's considered good? My kind of outing.

But seriously, the drinks at Rockin' Rodeo were seriously awesome! When I took my first sip of Tequila Sunrise I felt like a light from heaven shined down on me and the angels started singing, THIS was what it was supposed to taste like (no offense to my sister who's made them for me before . . . then again, she did once mix up the Tequila and the Vodka and it tasted like a twisted creamsicle - which I still drank cause I'm that good of a sister).

I was SO glad that some of my college chums (Sarah and Sonja) that live in Sac but I still never get to see enough were able to come. Sarah brought her roommate Monique - love that girl! She spent the whole time studiously watching those dancers like she could learn the dance just by watching (which she may be able to if she's way, WAY more talented than me). In fact, I know that if we went back next week she would walk out into the middle of the dance floor, yell "Yeah Bitches" and just go, doing every step flawlessly. She SO has to come back when we do it again.

But the highlight of my life might be that I got to drive both Heather AND Diane's cars. It was an interesting experience - I learned that those cousins like to sit ridiculously close to the pedals and their steering wheels are much lower than mine - had fun adjusting them in the dark at midnight, I tell ya.

One more thing before I finish this long post, I swear. I just gotta taunt my roommate really quick. See, Diane is ALWAYS the driver because a) she likes to drive, b) her car is more comfortable for long trips cause its a jeep and has more leg room, and c) I'm a little bit, okay a lot bit, of a Nervous Nellie when it comes to driving places I've never been before (do not even ASK about when I drove to that concert at Arco arena and got so horribly lost I ended up going around the stadium and reentering the parking lot from the other side). So I am always the entertainer - I pick the upbeat music, I keep the conversation going, and I make sure that she doesn't fall asleep.

Well Di, not as easy a job as you thought, is it? See I got a few mad skills in keeping people awake (and at other times, mad skills at putting them to sleep) and its harder than it looks. She DID break out in song for me so I got my karaoke but only for 5 seconds (though it was SO worth the laugh). But I think I still got the mad hat on this one. :)

Awesome to Kick it Off

Hello out there..this is Heather I am guest to this amazing blog. I was invited by Diane and Val to go line dancing with them. I suggested we go to a place up in Sac, aka Stoney Inn or Rockin' Rodeo... and that we should invite as many people as we could. So last night we ended up with eight people! That's pretty good! We got there super early so we could do dance lessons, which we got to do...the dance was okay to learn..but a little stressful when the music came on. But we all got out on the dance floor and tried it out!! I was totally impressed by Val and her skills for not only doing the dance we learned but three other dances!!! She is a natural when it comes to line dancing! She was totally rocking out there! Everyone else also did an awesome job out there on the dance floor!!!!

Fun part of the night Val and I got our first round of drinks for free because I totally knew the bartender from high school, and lets just say she was little to excited to see me and remember me. She was trying to figure out my name but could...so I gave her a clue that it started with the letter H and she didnt think that was right. But anywhoo..we got FREE DRINKS...on top of her giving us five VIP tickets!!! You get some sweet deals when you know someone. Needless to say I think us ladies will be going back there in the near future...right ladies???

So we danced the night away, enjoyed our 50 cent beers..and then Diane got a little tipsy, and by the end of the night I got a little tipsy...but the two of us were totally keeping Val entertained!!Val drove us through the taco bell drive thru...and I gave her directions to every place we went...in my drunk stage...I think she was a little nervous that I wasn't gonna get us home...but i totally did!

All in all line dancing with these ladies was great...and I am gald I got to be part of the first Anything can Happen Adventure!!! Can't wait for next time ladies!!!!

Week One: I Predict Falling

(Introductions - Hi, I'm Valerie!)

We picked our first task two days ago and when I stuck my hand in the jar I was pretty apprehensive. See, I don't really know what is in there because this was not my idea - this was ALL my roommate Diane and my sister Laura. Not that I think it's a bad thing but I'm a planner (try going to a concert with me and you'll see what I mean, I think I perform 10 ticket checks between the car highway and the parking lot) and not really knowing what was coming was kind of killing me.

But it turned out to be pretty harmless. Week One is Line Dancing! And we mobilized pretty quick if I do say so myself - we got that thing planned in a day or so. Now I'm selectively coordinated so I think I'll be able to pick up a line dance pretty good if they teach it to us. Other than that, totally sure I'll be falling on my face and that's without any of the 50 cent beers they're advertising. Should be fun!

It all starts here!

Welcome to the Anything Can Happen Adventures Blog!
The way this works is every Sunday Valerie and I (Diane) will be pulling a slip of paper out of our Anything Can Happen Jar. The slip of paper has an adventure for us to try.
